The Butte Folk Music Society is seeking donations of musical instruments to create an instrument lending program for Butte County's younger musical population. Playing music develops overall personal confidence and it's lots of FUN!
PLAY FOLK! formed to collaborate with other groups and area music teachers and musicians to bring folk music playing experiences to the students of Butte County.
PLAY FOLK! will loan instruments to students of all ages and already runs or participates in weekly jam sessions in Chico where youth can play with community musicians at all levels of expertise.
Donate your unused instruments and PLAY FOLK! will get them played again. Instruments given to the program will be refurbished and loaned to kids or auctioned off to raise money for the program. Other instruments of suspect quality will be used to create art for auction to raise funds to help our kids have instruments and opportunites to play them.
Bring instruments to our Chico Palio Booth, Saturday Sept 26 in the City Hall parking lot.
Hear the Rock Creek Jug Band jam and play onstage as part of the afternoon's festivities!
