Inspired
by the rugged, majestic beauty of the buttes and canyons surrounding Chico. The geometrical, symmetrical
designs represent the reddish brown earth and the gold beneath it. Butte Creek Canyon was the second largest gold strike in California, which is a contributing factor to the
development of Chico.
The turkeys represent themselves, the inhabitants of our canyons and foothills.
These fabulous native birds bless me each morning as I leave the canyon. It is
my pleasure to leave food for these sleek creatures and can’t help but smile
every time I see them.
