It is an honor and privilege to bring the memory of Hooker Oak
back to
life in my batik art work. A perfect symbol for our beautiful city
of
trees, I chose Fall colors for the flag with a brilliant sunset
background. With every brush stroke of each branch with rich
foliage and
acorns the spirit of this sacred, ancient valley oak came alive
for me.
And while I worked, I wondered what stories Hooker Oak could tell
us.
